Yashasvi Jaiswal is praised by India’s coach for a critical on-field performance following a century knock.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's international debut began with a bang when he hit a century in his first Test, winning him Player of the Match accolades for his valiant performance.

Yashasvi Jaiswal international debut began on a high note when he smashed a century in his first Test, earning him Player of the Match honors for his heroic effort. The 21-year-old struck a match-winning 171 to help India post a massive 421/5 declared over the West Indies in Dominica. Yashasvi displayed incredible patience and control on a slower track and was the only hitter to bat on all three days of the Test.

His efforts guaranteed that India did not have to bat twice in the match, which was won by the visitors by an innings and 141 runs to go 1-0 in the series.

However, that was not all; the boy also performed admirably in the field, garnering high praise from fielding coach T Dilip. The coach was particularly thrilled with his catch in the second innings to eliminate rookie Alick Athanaze.

“The most impressive catch, in my opinion, was Yashasvi Jaiswal in the short leg.” There are a couple of crucial points to be made about that capture. First and foremost, he kept a low profile. That’s the first indication of a competent short-leg fielder. He did well on that. But what I truly enjoyed about him was his batting. He scored 171 points and played for about an hour and a half. “It’s never easy to come back and field from the short leg position,” Dilip added.

“Also, for a young kid, he missed the catch at first when the same batsman was on 0.” “I was really impressed by his ability to refocus, come back, and stay alert while pulling off a better catch,” he continued.

Athanaze was one of the Windies players who fought against a potent Indian bowling assault led by Ravichandran Ashwin.

Athanaze scored 47 in the first innings before being bowled out for 28 in the second. However, the rest of Windy’s batting squad failed to deliver over the two innings, as the hosts were bowled out for 150 and 130 runs, respectively.

Meanwhile, Ashwin completed a 12-wicket haul despite being overlooked for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. His contributions enabled India to dismiss the Windies for 150 in the first innings and 130 in the second.

Yashasvi Jaiswal journey has been lengthy, but it is only the beginning. In his first-ever encounter with the Indian squad, Jaiswal completed an incredible rags-to-riches journey by hitting a magnificent knock against the West Indies on Thursday’s first Test. The Indian opener

put up a record-breaking stand with skipper Rohit Sharma to help Team India defeat Kraigg Brathwaite’s side at Windsor Park in Dominica.

After cracking a historic century, Jaiswal, who used to peddle ‘panipuri’ for pocket money, reached out to his father in tears. In the first of two Tests between Rohit Sharma’s men and the West Indies, Jaiswal became India’s 17th batsman to make a century on debut. Jaiswal’s father told the Hindustan Times that the India opener called him about 4:30 a.m. during the Dominica Test.

“He called around 4:30 a.m. (IST) after scoring his century on Day 2.” He couldn’t keep his tears from falling. I, too, sobbed. It was an extremely emotional time. He was unable to speak for an extended period. He was exhausted. “He simply asked, ‘Are you happy, father?'” Jaiswal’s father, Bhupendra, owns a tiny paint business in Bhadohi.

The 21-year-old is the third Indian hitter to get 150 on his debut for the Asian giants. Jaiswal was rewarded for his prolific domestic run with a critical 229-run stand with skipper Rohit, who was blown away by the debutant’s temperament. Jaiswal smashed many records with a magnificent knock of 171 off 387 balls.

At 21 years and 196 days, the India opener became the seventh youngest hitter in Test cricket history to get a 150 on debut. He is the seventh Indian to score a century on his Test debut away from home. The India opener also broke Mohammad Azharuddin’s record by being the Indian batter with the most balls faced on Test debut.

“It felt great to win Player-of-the-Match on my debut.” It’s been a long trip, but I’m glad and satisfied with the outcome. Let’s see what the future has in store for me; this is only the beginning (of my worldwide career). “I pray to God that I can keep playing like this, putting in (such) effort, and contributing to the team,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said after the game.
